A luscious chicken dish draped in a velvety basil cream sauce that tantalizes the taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¾ cup dried Italian breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. Begin preparing the chicken by slicing each breast in half horizontally. Flatten cutlets to about ½-inch thickness.
  3. Dip each cutlet in milk, then roll in breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  4. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken cutlets, cooking until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer cooked chicken to the baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil.
  7. Lower the heat, add heavy cream, and simmer until slightly thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese, basil, and black pepper.
  8. Serve chicken topped with the basil cream sauce.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. Add sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for an extra flavor dimension.
