A delightful treat combining soft, moist bread with a rich cinnamon sugar swirl that enhances every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the swirl:
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar in a bowl until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon swirl: mix sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until paste-like.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture, add the remaining batter, and drizzle the rest of the swirl mixture.
  7. Swirl gently with a knife to create patterns.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure butter isn’t too hot when mixing with wet ingredients. Substitute buttermilk if necessary.
