  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • A few drops of pink food coloring (for frosting)
  • Edible pearls or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with colorful cupcake liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat the butter and granulated sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined. Add pink food coloring to desired shade.
  5. Divide the batter among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Beat the softened butter for frosting until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. Beat until light and fluffy.
  8. Pipe the pink buttercream frosting onto each cooled cupcake using a piping bag.
  9. Garnish with edible pearls or sprinkles if desired.
