A delightful dish of fried mushrooms served with a creamy ranch dipping sauce, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

  • 1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. In another shallow bowl, beat the egg until well mixed.
  3. Pour the breadcrumbs into a third bowl.
  4. Take each mushroom slice and dip it into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally roll it in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Place the coated mushroom slices in batches into the skillet and fry for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the fried mushrooms to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  8. Whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and pepper for the dipping sauce.
  9. Serve the crispy fried mushrooms hot, alongside the ranch sauce for dipping.
