A delicious and hearty casserole combining ground beef, green beans, and mushrooms in a creamy sauce, topped with crispy fried onions.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups canned green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pack (6 ounces) crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms; sauté for another 3 minutes until the mushrooms are soft.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the drained green beans and 1/4 cup crispy fried onions.
  7. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove foil, add remaining crispy fried onions, and bake for another 10 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add soy sauce or Dijon mustard. You can also mix in corn or bell peppers for more vegetables.
