Delightful heart-shaped cookies that evoke warmth and love, perfect for sharing on any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter (227 g)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (100 g)
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (270 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour and mix until the dough forms a soft ball.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thickness.
  5. Cut out heart shapes with cookie cutters and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Chill the cut-out cookies in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 13-16 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Decorate with royal icing, glaze, or melted chocolate as desired.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easy mixing, and don’t skip chilling the dough to maintain the shape.
