Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Optional: additional cherries for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Fold in the 1 cup of pitted and chopped cherries, mixing gently.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions for 20-25 minutes until soft-serve consistency.
  4. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  5. Serve the ice cream in bowls, optionally topping with additional cherries.

Notes

For a creamier texture, consider the slow churn method by freezing in a shallow dish and stirring every 30 minutes until firm.
