Million Dollar Lasagna

A luscious, layered dish that celebrates flavors and comfort, featuring golden cheese, rich tomato sauce, and creamy ricotta.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 12 cooked lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups additional shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, and parsley in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
  6. Spread a small amount of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, then top with 1/3 of the ricotta mixture and 1/3 of the meat sauce. Repeat twice.
  8. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use high-quality marinara sauce and fresh cheeses for a richer flavor. Add veggies for added nutrition.
