A delightful fusion of flavors with crispy shrimp, creamy cream cheese, and seasoned sushi rice wrapped in nori.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup tempura batter mix
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 sheets nori
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup eel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: sliced avocado, julienned cucumber, spicy mayo

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sushi rice by rinsing under cold water until clear; cook and mix with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  2. Fry the tempura shrimp by coating with batter and panko, then frying in heated oil until golden brown.
  3. Assemble the sushi roll on nori by spreading rice, cream cheese, and tempura shrimp.
  4. Roll the sushi tightly, sealing the nori with water.
  5. Add extra crunch by coating the roll with batter and frying if desired.
  6. Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces and serve with eel sauce and mayonnaise.

Notes

Use cold water for tempura batter for a light texture. A hot, wet knife will help slice the rolls cleanly.
