Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Fold in the vinegar until incorporated.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
