Delicate Strawberry French Macarons with smooth shells and a creamy strawberry filling, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 4 large egg whites
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (for filling)
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Sift the powdered sugar and almond flour together in a bowl.
  4. Beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually sprinkle in the granulated sugar, beating until glossy, stiff peaks form.
  6. Add the vanilla extract and food coloring (if using) to the egg white mixture.
  7. Fold in the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar until a smooth consistency is reached.
  8. Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a round tip.
  9. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets, tapping gently to release air bubbles.
  10. Let the piped macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms.
  11. Bake the macarons for 15-18 minutes, allowing them to cool completely afterward.
  12. Beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until fluffy, then mix in the strawberry jam.
  13. Pipe the filling onto half of the macaron shells and sandwich them together with the remaining shells.
