Delightful Spinach Pinwheels featuring a creamy, cheesy filling wrapped in crispy puff pastry, perfect for any gathering.

  • 1 sheet refrigerated puff pastry dough
  • 1/2 block (4 oz / 115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 package (10 oz / 280 g) frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 2 cups / 230 g / 8 oz freshly grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Prepare a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Stir together the thawed spinach and cream cheese in a medium bowl.
  4. Add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, and mix well.
  5. Whisk together the egg and water in a small bowl for the egg wash.
  6. Unroll the puff pastry and brush it with the egg wash.
  7. Spread the spinach mixture across the pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  8. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Roll the pastry lengthwise and brush with more egg wash.
  10. Slice the roll into 1-inch pieces and arrange on the baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  12. Cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Try adding sun-dried tomatoes or different cheeses for variety.
