A delightful and comforting dessert that combines the essence of autumn with the warm embrace of cinnamon and fresh apples.

  • 3 cups of apples, sliced into thin wedges
  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and melted butter until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with milk until well combined.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch cake pan.
  9. Arrange the sliced apples on top, gently pressing them into the batter.
  10. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Consider adding nuts for extra crunch or a drizzle of icing for sweetness. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
