  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • Blue food coloring (to desired shade)
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and almond extract, stirring to combine.
  4. Using blue food coloring, add a few drops to the mixture and stir until the desired shade is reached.
  5. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, about 20-25 minutes.
  6. If using maraschino cherries, chop them and add in the last few minutes of churning.
  7. Transfer the ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
