A comforting and flavorful Bowtie Pasta dish with ground beef, enriched with tomatoes and Italian seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until it is perfectly al dente. Once cooked, drain it and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet heated over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook and break it apart gently with a wooden spoon for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, along with the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Introduce the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing gently with the meat sauce. Then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Ensure the ground beef is freshly minced for best flavor. Prepping ingredients ahead will ease the cooking process.
