  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 large red onion, diced
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 25-ounce package frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 tablespoon garlic seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add spicy Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about five minutes.
  3. Stir in the red and green bell peppers and onion; cook for 8-10 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Add the minced garlic and seasonings, stirring for one minute until the garlic is aromatic and golden.
  5. Pour in the broth and heavy cream; mix well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Cook the ravioli in a pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions, reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  7. Fold the cooked ravioli into the skillet with the sauce, adjusting the consistency with reserved pasta water as needed.
  8. Let it simmer on low for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  9. Serve hot, optionally garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs.

Notes

Prepare all ingredients before starting to ensure a smooth cooking process. Adjust the spice level to taste and let the cream simmer longer for a creamier sauce.
