These soft, fluffy cupcakes topped with silky cream cheese frosting and caramel sauce are perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Pinch of salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate mixing in the flour mixture and milk into the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
  6. Fold in the caramel sauce until well blended.
  7. Spoon the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Beat the cream cheese and unsalted butter in a bowl until smooth and creamy for the frosting.
  11. Gradually add the powdered sugar until fluffy.
  12. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, then beat for 2-3 minutes until well mixed.
  13. Frost the cooled cupcakes with the cream cheese frosting.
  14. Drizzle extra caramel sauce on top if desired.
