Delightfully flaky puff pastry filled with a creamy, rich cream cheese mixture, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: fruit or jam for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares (about 4×4 inches each).
  3. Mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the filling to create a pocket.
  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly, then top with fruit or jam if desired before serving.

Notes

Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed but cool to maintain flakiness. Avoid overfilling to prevent the pastries from bursting.
