A comforting, handheld dish filled with savory ground beef, gooey cheese, and wrapped in a golden crust, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Sauté until the beef is browned and onions are translucent, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangular shape.
  6. Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  7. Carefully roll the dough into a log, sealing the edges tightly.
  8. Place the roll seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the roll is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  10. Once baked, let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, chop vegetables and mix the filling in advance. Work with cold dough for easier rolling, and keep an eye on the baking time to avoid overcooking.
