Delightful rolls combining savory feta and creamy ricotta with a sweet and spicy honey sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack of filo pastry sheets
  • 200g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 12 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare filling: Gather a mixing bowl and add the crumbled feta cheese, ricotta, and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then combine until the mixture is slightly creamy and well-blended.
  2. Assemble rolls: Lay a sheet of filo pastry flat. Brush it lightly with olive oil, place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end, and roll tightly. Seal the ends with the beaten egg.
  3. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Arrange the rolls on the tray, brushing the tops with more olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Prepare chili honey sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, red chili flakes, and lemon juice. Stir gently for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve: Drizzle the hot chili honey over the baked rolls and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure filo pastry stays covered to prevent drying out. Don’t overfill the rolls to avoid bursting.
