  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup chocolate chip morsels
  • 2 tsp canola oil, divided
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, divided for cooking

Instructions

  1. Gather Your Ingredients: Begin by measuring out all your ingredients for easy access.
  2. Sift Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, egg, and melted butter until fully combined.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chip morsels.
  6. Heat the Skillet: Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp of butter and 1 tsp of canola oil.
  7. Pour the Batter: For each pancake, pour approximately 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet.
  8. Cook Until Bubbles Form: Watch for bubbles to form on the surface.
  9. Flip and Finish Cooking: Cook until golden brown on both sides.
  10. Serve Warm: Serve the pancakes warm, topped with butter and maple syrup.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter for fluffier pancakes. You can substitute different kinds of chocolate chips for variety.
