  • 200 g cream cheese, softened
  • 120 g powdered sugar

  • 240 ml heavy whipping cream
  • 60 g unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 20 g unsweetened cocoa powder (for glaze)
  • 60 ml Coca-Cola (for glaze)
  • 150 g powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)
  • Crushed peppermint (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease and flour three 23 cm round cake pans.
  2. Combine Coca-Cola, unsalted butter, and unsweetened cocoa powder in a saucepan and heat until boiling.
  3. Whisk together flour and granulated sugar in a large bowl. Pour the boiling cocoa mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  4. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  5. Distribute the batter evenly among the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
  6. Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Whip heavy cream in a separate bowl and fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Assemble the cake by layering baked rounds with cream cheese filling.
  8. For the glaze, melt unsalted butter, cocoa powder, and Coca-Cola in a saucepan. Stir in powdered sugar until smooth and pour over the assembled cake.
  9. Garnish with whipped cream and add optional toppings like crushed peppermint or maraschino cherries.
