Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract in a small bowl; beat until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Cream the softened butter in a large bowl and gradually add granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in 2 tsp of vanilla extract.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  8. Take about 1 tablespoon of dough, flatten it, add a teaspoon of cheesecake filling, and top it with another tablespoon of dough; seal to form a ball.
  9. Place the dough balls on the baking sheet, spaced apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft. Allow cooling for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened and chill the dough before baking to maintain shape.
