Delightful Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies that are soft, tender, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
  • Green food coloring (for decoration)
  • Green sugar sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually incorporate this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Roll portions of dough into 1-inch balls; place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet and gently flatten each ball.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let them cool for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for icing. Add green food coloring for a festive touch.
  7. Spread the icing on cooled cookies and sprinkle with green sugar if desired.

Notes

Ensure that butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for easier mixing. Don’t overmix the dough; mix until just combined.
