A modern reinterpretation of the traditional Italian tiramisu, featuring rich pistachios and smooth mascarpone for a delightful and creamy dessert experience.

  • 1 1/2 cups softened mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cooled brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios

Instructions

  1. Place the shelled pistachios into a food processor and pulse until finely ground.
  2. Beat together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
  3. Fold in the ground pistachios until fully integrated.
  4. Pour the cooled espresso into a shallow dish and add the coffee liqueur if using.
  5. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer in a 9×9-inch dish.
  6. Spread half of the pistachio mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Layer another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. Dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with chopped pistachios before serving.

Allow the dessert to chill overnight for deeper flavors. Use high-quality mascarpone for the best taste and ensure espresso is fully cooled before dipping ladyfingers.
