  • 2 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Creole seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • 2/3 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves, chopped
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  2. Melt the butter in a large nonstick pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and sweat until soft.
  4. Toss in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to create a roux.
  6. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until fully combined.
  7. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Creole seasoning, red pepper flakes, and nutmeg (if using).
  8. Add the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, mixing until melted and smooth.
  9. Mix in the sour cream and chopped spinach, cooking only until the spinach wilts.
  10. Fold in the shrimp gently, ensuring they are fully coated.
  11. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor. Don’t overcook the shrimp, as they will continue to cook in the oven.
