Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced onions
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons ranch or blue cheese salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup Cholula brand Original hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken breast
  • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella or Cheddar Cheese, divided
  • 12 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 12 tablespoons fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 loaf baguette (sliced, buttered, and toasted)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Begin by melting the unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, toss in the finely diced onions and celery, sautéing until they are tender and fragrant.
  2. Add Garlic: Lower the heat slightly and mix in the minced garlic. Stir for a minute until fragrant.
  3. Incorporate Creamy Elements: Reduce the heat further, then add the cream cheese to the skillet. Stir until fully melted and blended with the vegetables.
  4. Mix in Sauces: Add the sour cream, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and Cholula hot sauce. Stir until creamy and well-combined.
  5. Seasoning Time: Sprinkle in the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley. Mix until incorporated.
  6. Add the Chicken: Fold in the chopped chicken breast, coating each piece in the mixture.
  7. Melt in the Cheese: Gradually stir in 1 cup of shredded cheese until melted. If too thick, add heavy whipping cream to desired consistency.
  8. Transfer to Casserole Dish: Spoon the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  9. Broil to Perfection: Place under the broiler until bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and garnish with parsley, green onions, or blue cheese crumbles. Serve with toasted baguette slices.
