A comforting casserole featuring cheese-filled tortellini in a rich Alfredo sauce, topped with crispy breadcrumbs.

  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the tortellini in boiling water according to package instructions until tender, then drain.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer.
  5. Stir in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Fold cooked tortellini into the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  9. Top with breadcrumbs and additional mozzarella cheese if desired.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  11. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For best results, let the heavy cream come to room temperature before using. You can prepare the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate for up to a day before baking.
