A delightful Crispy Fried Cod Sandwich featuring tender cod with a golden crust, fresh lettuce, and creamy tartar sauce.

  • 2 Fresh Cod Fillets
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 3/4 Cup Cold Soda Water
  • 1 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for Frying
  • 2 Sandwich Buns
  • 1/4 Cup Tartar Sauce
  • Lettuce & Tomato Slices

Instructions

  1. Heat your oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan.
  2. Combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk them together until well mixed.
  4. Slowly add the cold soda water to the dry ingredients.
  5. Stir until you achieve a smooth batter.
  6. Dip each cod fillet into the batter, coating well.
  7. Gently roll each fillet in the panko breadcrumbs.
  8. Carefully place the coated cod fillets into the hot oil.
  9. Fry for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  10. Remove the fillets and let them drain on paper towels.
  11. Assemble your sandwiches with tartar sauce, lettuce, cod fillet, and tomato slices between the buns.

Notes

For best results, ensure oil is hot enough before frying, and avoid overcrowding the pan.
