Delightful homemade fried cheese bites with a crispy exterior and gooey center, perfect for snacks or appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz of cheese (mozzarella or cheddar, cut into bite-sized cubes)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese by cutting it into bite-sized cubes and freezing for about 30 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station with bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and mixed breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each cheese cube in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the cheese bites until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Drain on a paper towel and serve warm, optionally with marinara sauce.

Notes

Keep oil temperature consistent for better frying results. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
