  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved.
  3. Whisk in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour in the vanilla extract and 1 cup of Dr. Pepper soda, mixing until combined.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool the brownies in the pan before preparing the glaze.
  10. Combine 1/4 cup Dr. Pepper soda, 1/4 cup butter, and 2 tablespoons cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth.
  11. Whisk in the powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until glossy.
  12. Pour the glaze over cooled brownies and spread it out evenly.
  13. Slice the brownies into squares once the glaze has set.
