Delightful bite-sized snacks that blend creamy cheese with earthy spinach for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet refrigerated puff pastry dough
  • ½ block (4 oz / 115 g) softened cream cheese
  • 1 package (10 oz / 280 g) frozen spinach, thawed and well-drained
  • 2 cups (230 g / 8 oz) freshly grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Stir together the thawed spinach and softened cream cheese in a medium bowl until combined. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing well.
  3. Whisk together the egg and water in a small bowl to create an egg wash.
  4. Unroll the puff pastry on a floured surface and brush with egg wash.
  5. Spread the spinach mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a ½-inch border.
  6. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese on top generously.
  7. Roll the pastry lengthwise, ensuring everything is tucked in snugly.
  8. Brush the outside with more egg wash and slice into 1-inch pieces.
  9. Arrange the pinwheels on the baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure spinach is well-drained to prevent sogginess. Use freshly grated mozzarella for best results.
