  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. In another small bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Spoon half of the cinnamon filling over the batter and gently swirl it using a knife.
  9. Repeat with remaining batter and filling.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. While baking, prepare the icing by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
  12. Drizzle the icing over the warm loaf before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter is melted and cooled slightly before mixing. Use freshly ground cinnamon for the best flavor.
