  • 150g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 350g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • White and colored icing (for decoration)
  • Food coloring (yellow, green, pink, blue)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions; refrigerate if too soft.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut out shapes.
  8. Place the shapes on the baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Prepare the icing by coloring it in bowls with food coloring.
  11. Pipe designs onto the cooled cookies with a piping bag.
  12. Let the icing dry completely before serving.
