A warm and comforting cherry cobbler featuring a buttery layer beneath a sweet cherry topping, perfect for any occasion.

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Pour the melted butter into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish.
  4. Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2/3 cup of granulated sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  5. Gradually stir in 1 cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to create a smooth batter.
  6. Carefully pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
  7. Spoon 1 can of cherry pie filling evenly over the batter.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden-brown and bubbling.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding a dash of almond extract. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
