A comforting casserole featuring layers of ground beef, savory potatoes, and rich cheese, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it.
  3. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine thawed hash browns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, half of the cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika in a large bowl.
  6. Incorporate the beef mixture into the potato mixture until well combined.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
  8. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Make sure to drain excess fat from the ground beef to avoid a greasy casserole.
