A comforting blend of ground beef, tender potatoes, and creamy soups, perfect for busy weeknight dinners or family gatherings.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.7 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.7 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Cook the ground beef with diced onions and minced garlic until the beef is no longer pink, then season with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. Add half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Whisk together the soups and milks until smooth in a large bowl.
  7. Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef layer, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
  8. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  10. Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let the casserole stand for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add frozen peas or corn for extra nutrition. Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
