Aromatic Easy Homemade Focaccia Bread with a golden crust and tender inside, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of warm water, 1 tsp sugar, and the packet of yeast in a mixing bowl.
  2. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Pour in 1 tbsp of olive oil, 2 1/4 cups of flour, and 1 tsp of salt.
  4. Mix until the dough comes together.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Punch down the dough after it rises, and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  9. Create dimples in the dough with your fingers.
  10. Drizzle more olive oil on top and sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Ensure your water is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly. Don’t rush the resting periods for the best results.
