Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packs Instant Ramen Noodles
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon chili paste or sriracha (optional)
  • Minced garlic
  • Minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Add the instant ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger in a bowl.
  3. Simmer the sauce in a small saucepan with chicken broth (or water) over medium heat until simmering. Add the sauce mixture and stir well, letting it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Thicken the sauce (optional) by mixing cornstarch with a couple of tablespoons of water and adding it to the saucepan, stirring continuously.
  5. Combine the cooked ramen noodles with the sauce in the saucepan, gently tossing to coat evenly.
  6. Serve the saucy ramen in bowls, garnishing with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Using leftover broth enhances the flavor significantly. Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
