A delightful and heartwarming soup featuring tender wontons, aromatic broth, and vibrant vegetables, perfect for busy evenings.

  • 1 package of wonton wrappers
  • 1 pound of ground chicken or turkey
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 cups of bok choy, chopped
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground chicken (or turkey), soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic in a mixing bowl.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center.
  3. Moisten the edges with a drop of water and fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle shape.
  4. Bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to secure, creating a pouch.
  5. Bring the chicken broth and water to a rolling boil in a large pot.
  6. Add the wontons to the bubbling broth and cook for 5-7 minutes or until they float.
  7. Stir in the chopped bok choy and sliced mushrooms, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper according to taste.
  9. Ladle the warm soup into bowls and garnish with freshly sliced green onions.

Notes

Ensure wontons are sealed properly and avoid overcooking to keep them tender.
