A quick and easy sourdough flatbread recipe that is perfect for serving with dips or as a side to your meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup active sourdough starter
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt, sour cream, or ricotta cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, yogurt, olive oil, and milk in a large bowl until a soft dough forms.
  2. If the dough is too wet or sticky, gradually add more flour until manageable.
  3. Cover the bowl with a damp tea towel and let it rest in a warm area for about 480 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. After rising, turn the dough out onto a floured surface, divide it into 8 pieces, and shape each into a ball.
  5. Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, and roll each ball into a flat disk about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown with bubbles forming.
  7. Transfer the cooked flatbreads to a wire rack and repeat the process. Serve warm.
