A hearty dish that combines tender sirloin steak and creamy Yukon gold potatoes, infused with garlic and fresh herbs for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.25 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1.25 lb baby Yukon gold potatoes, halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 1.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.75 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2.5 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1.5 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1.5 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 0.25 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the steak pieces and season with kosher salt and black pepper. Sear for about 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and toss in the halved potatoes. Cook for about 10 minutes until softened.
  3. Sprinkle in the paprika, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Stir to coat the potatoes evenly.
  4. Add the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth to the skillet. Scrape any brown bits from the bottom.
  5. Return the seared steak to the skillet and add the unsalted butter. Stir to coat the steak with pan juices.
  6. Sprinkle in the chopped rosemary and thyme, then finish with lemon juice. Cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until the steak is done and the potatoes are tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Sear the steak properly for best results and use fresh herbs for enhanced flavor.
