Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing until well-coated. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes
