A comforting casserole layered with ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Add the ground beef and chopped onions to a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Cook until the beef is fully browned, draining the excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish.
  7. Add half of the cooked beef mixture atop the potatoes, followed by half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
  9. Pour the creamy soup mixture over everything.
  10. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  12. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a quicker version, use pre-sliced potatoes. Let the casserole rest to enhance the flavors.
