Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Begin by breaking the dark chocolate into small pieces and melting it with the butter.
  2. Next, separate the egg yolks from the whites.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture turns pale and creamy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  5. Gently stir the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
  6. In a separate, clean bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they form stiff peaks.
  7. Carefully fold the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture a little at a time.
  8. Once combined, spoon the mousse into serving dishes.
  9. Cover them with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes, or until set.
  10. Serve the mousse chilled and garnish as desired.

Notes

For extra creaminess, consider adding a splash of heavy cream to the mixture. Experiment with flavors by adding different extracts.
