Delightfully soft and sweet rolls made with condensed milk, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup warm whole milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-7 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  3. Once the yeast mixture is bubbly, add it to the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
  4. Gradually whisk in the flour and salt until a dough begins to form.
  5. On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for about 1 to 1 ½ hours until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 equal pieces, shape each into a ball, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Cover the shaped rolls and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Brush with more melted butter right after they are out of the oven.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the wet mixture or sprinkle cinnamon into the dough. Store in an airtight container for up to two days or freeze for longer storage.
