A delightful dish combining marinated flank steak with comforting rice, infused with Korean flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and gochujang in a bowl to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced flank steak into the bowl, coating the beef evenly. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes, or preferably 30 minutes to overnight.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  4. Warm the cooked rice in the microwave or on the stove until fluffy and ready to serve.
  5. Assemble by layering a generous portion of rice at the bottom of a bowl or plate and topping it with the tender beef.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for added texture and flavor.
  7. Serve immediately for a warm, satisfying meal.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate overnight. Avoid overcooking the beef.
