  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cucumber, grated
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Fresh herbs (dill or parsley), chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine chicken breasts in a bowl with olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat grill to medium heat and grill chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Let rest before slicing.
  3. For the tzatziki, mix grated cucumber with yogurt, crumbled feta, lemon juice, and fresh herbs. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Warm pita bread in a skillet or oven until soft.
  5. Assemble gyros by laying grilled chicken slices on pita, drizzle with tzatziki, and add tomatoes and red onions.
  6. Roll up the pita and serve immediately with extra tzatziki on the side.
