An enchanting dessert that evokes the nostalgia of sunny days with a fluffy orange cake bursting in flavor and creamy textures, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box orange cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup orange sherbet, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Orange fondant or icing for petals
  • Yellow fondant or icing for the center
  • Green icing for leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the orange cake mix, eggs, milk, melted butter, and softened orange sherbet in a large mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the orange batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Prepare the frosting by combining heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a chilled bowl. Beat until stiff peaks form.
  6. Layer the first cake layer on a platter and spread whipped cream on top, then add the second layer and frost the entire cake.
  7. Roll out the orange fondant for petals, use yellow fondant for centers, and pipe green icing for leaves.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Ensure cakes are cooled completely before frosting to avoid melting issues. Use fresh eggs and accurately measure ingredients for best results.
