Delightful rolls of crispy filo pastry filled with creamy feta and ricotta cheese, drizzled with sweet and spicy chilli honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack of filo pastry sheets
  • 200g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 12 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare filling: Gather a mixing bowl. Add the crumbled feta cheese along with ricotta and parsley. Season with salt and pepper, and combine until slightly creamy.
  2. Assemble rolls: Lay a sheet of filo pastry flat. Brush with olive oil. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end and roll tightly. Seal the ends with beaten egg.
  3. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the assembled rolls on it. Brush the tops with olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Prepare chilli honey sauce: In a saucepan over low heat, combine honey, red chili flakes, and lemon juice. Stir for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Serve: Drizzle the hot chilli honey over the rolls and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add garlic powder to the cheese mix or experiment with different herbs such as dill or thyme.
